Strengths of E0 transitions in 188Os and 196Pt and the structure of IBA wavefunctions in the Os-Pt transition region

Description
In 188Os and 196Pt produced by thermal neutron capture E0 transitions have been investigated. The predictions of the interacting boson approximation are compared with the experimental results and discussed in terms of the detailed structure and systematics of individual energy levels in the transition from the IBA O(6) limit toward the deformed rotor.
