Polarizations in nucleon-deuteron elastic scattering as a probe for the nucleon-nucleon off-shell behaviour
Description
A separable representation of the S-wave paris potential and an on shell equivalent Yamaguchi-type potential differing in its off-shell behaviour are used to calculate the spin-transfer coefficient K/sup Y'//sub Y/ for elastic neutron-deuteron scattering. An offshell sensitivity is found related to differences of the interactions in the inner region r ≤ 1.2 fm. At E/sub p/ = 10 MeV Coulomb-corected predictions are compared to experimental proton-deuteron data. Thereby a preference is seen for the Paris-type interaction, which contains intermediate-range repulsion
