Spain in the EELA project

Description

The EELA Project (E-infrastructure shared between Europe and Latin America) is an initiative that is funded by the European Union to extend the Grid technology from Europe to Latin America. Several Spanish institutions are involved, playing an important role in the project. EELA's objectives include the creation of the necessary e-infrastructure between the two continents, the porting on this e-infrastructure of applications of social impact to both communities and the dissemination of and training in Grid technology. This article summarizes the three aspects. (Author)
