Resonance absorption of γ-quanta near the points of a first phase transition

Description
A model is suggested which postulates that an atom can jump rapidly from one equilibrium position to another near phase transition of the first kind. A calculation is made of the nuclear gamma resonance (Moessbauer) spectrum near the phase transition temperature. It is shown that if the time spent by an atom in each equilibrium position is less than the lifetime of a nucleus in the excited state, a reduction in the area under the experimentally determined spectral curve should be observed near phase transition points
