Chemiluminescence stages of Belousov-Zhabotinsky reactions in the systems with ruthenium complexes
Description
A study was made on autovibrational catalytic reaction of malonic acid (MA) oxidation by bromate (Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction) in the presence of tris-dipyridyl complexes of Ru(2,3). The reaction is accompained by bright chemiluminescence (CL), which occurs during Ru(3) reduction by active intermediate products - organic radicals. It is shown that CL is caused by Ru(3) interaction not with stronger reducers - hydroxymalonic acid radicals and probably COCOOH and HCO2 radicals. The simplified scheme of the process of CL occurrence in MA-BrO3--Ru(2,3) and MA-BrO3--Ce(3,4)-Ry(2,3) systems is presented. The scheme is supported by experimental dependences of the maximal value of CL intensity on reagent concentration
