Method to determine fallout areas from a model in case of serious radioactive accident in a nuclear centre

Description

The authors report the use of a miniature model (3m x 3m) of the region of Marcoule to investigate the behaviour of effluents and fallout areas in case of accident with contamination release. Tests have been performed in a subsonic elliptic wind tunnel and the aerodynamic field has been visualized. In order to investigate and visualize fallouts, a solution of lead acetate has been sprayed on the model and holes have released hydrogen sulphide
