Description
An isochronous and variable energy CV-28 cyclotron has been in routine operation at IPEN-CNEN/SP since 1982. Is this type of machine, protons, deuterons, 3 He and alpha particles can be accelerated with variable energy up to 24, 14, 36 and 28 MeV respectively which allows a diversity of applications such as radioisotope production for medical diagnosis. In this work main characteristics, uses, recent activities and future prospects are presented. (author). 7 refs., 2 figs., 1 tab
