Generalized oscillator strengths for X-B transitions in the hydrogen molecule

  • 1. Quantum Theory Project, Department of Physics, University of Florida, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida 32611

Description

Generalized oscillator strengths were computed for high-energy electron scattering by H2, HD, and D2. Wave functions expanded in explicitly correlated Gaussian functions were used to describe electronic states. The integration over the internuclear separation was performed with accurate vibrational wave functions. Transitions from the v = 0 vibrational level in the electronic ground state (X1Σ+/sub g/) to various levels (0< or =v< or =38, 41, and 53 for H2, HD, and D2, respectively) in the electronic B1Σ+/sub u/ state were considered. The calculations were performed for 76 values of the momentum transfer K in the range 0.0001< or =K< or =20.0 (a.u.)
