Description
The modulation signal produced by the oscillation in the axial channel of the Chatillon nuclear pile, of an absorbing sample placed in a cadmium case, makes it possible to evaluate the effects due to the neutron capture during slowdown. The calibration curve obtained with increasing thicknesses of boron, and compared to theory, is used to study Hf, Sm, Hg, U. Reprint of a paper published in 'Comptes Rendus des Seances de l'Academie des Sciences', t. 234, sitting of June 16, 1952, p. 2448-2450.
Abstract (French)
Le signal de modulation produit par l'oscillation dans le canal axial de la pile de Chatillon, d'un echantillon absorbant place dans un etui de cadmium, permet d'evaluer les effets dus a la capture des neutrons en cours de ralentissement. La courbe d'etalonnage obtenue avec des epaisseurs croissantes de bore, et confrontee avec la theorie, sert a l'etude de Hf, Sm, Hg, U.
