Description

Redox processes in solutions of dimer chloride complexes of ruthenium (4) were studied by electrochemical and spetrophotometric techniques in order to develop a method of coulometric determination of ruthenium. The developed method for determining 0.1-5.5 mg Ru (RSD=0.012-0.02) is based on one-electron reduction of Ru (4) dimers to a dimer with a mixed oxidation state of Ru (4, 3). Ten-fold mass excess of Pt (4), Pd (2), Rh (3) do not interfere. Au (3) and Ir (4) interfere with the determination. The method was used for the analysis of some ruthenium-containing materials
