Description
Solid State Amplifier (SSA) use multiple ∼1 kW semiconductor device (MOSFET, LDMOS, etc) to generate high power RF by using power splitting and combining techniques. These SSA can generate very high RF power in few kW range. SSA are used in applications like Accelerator, Mobile Telephony, Radar, etc due to their inherent advantages like compact footprint, modularity, easy replacement, safety (low voltage), high reliability-graceful power degradation (in case of module failure), high efficiency, etc compared to vacuum devices. SSA receives AC mains as input for its sub-systems hence a dedicated power distribution arrangement consisting of AC Power Distribution Panel (ACPDP) is required for its safe and reliable operation. This paper describes the various design features of the ACPDP developed for a 325 MHz, 7 kW SSA
