Description
A variety of many-fermion and many-boson systems capable of forming condensed phases are reviewed within the context of non-plane-wave Hartree-Fock states which, having lower energy than the (trivial) plane wave ones, are to be preferred as superior single-particle, zero-order states in more elaborate microscopic ground state correlation energy studies.
