Study on the nucleon component by means of a transportable supermonitor

Description

A mobile station for cosmic ray observation is described. The station is mounted on three motor cars. A monitor ZNM-64 is used as transmitter. The station switches on a measuring device, a recording device with external attachments, blocks for supply and control of station operation, thermo- and baro-transmitters. The measuring device makes it possible to observe the nucleon component of cosmic rays without a stabilized dead time and to measure the multiplicity of the neutrons generated in the monitor. The latitudinal variation of the total counting rate and the neutron multiplicities for the three expeditionary monitors ZNM-64 is compared with the data of latitudinal measurements carried out by other authors on similar car-and shipborne monitors
