Separation of reaction channels in heavy-ion induced compound-nuclear reactions: levels of 104Rh populated by 100Mo(7Li,3n)104Rh
Description
A large solid-angle proton-γ coincidence system was developed which proved remarkably successful in separating the reaction channels in a 7Li induced reaction. In addition to identifying the proton reaction channel, the system was able to clearly separate several reaction channels which were due to break-up of the incident lithium particles. This significantly reduced the complexity of the data by allowing the unambiguous identification of those γ rays which originated in the 104Rh nucleus. With the aid of this identification, the 104Rh level scheme could be constructed. The results of this analysis show that 104Rh does fit into the known systematics of the mass-100 region
