Coronal index of solar activity 1971
Creators
Description
The suggested coronal index is the amount of energy emitted by the entire corona in emission line 5303 A into one steradian in the direction of the Earth. In order to determine this index the intensity is measured on every observation day of emission line 5303 A in 5 degree intervals, 40'' above the photosphere surface. The relation is derived for the calculation of the total energy from the measured values. Also usable are the intermediate results: the intensity of the corona emission line 5303 A and its average intensity in a given width for the given day. (Oy)
