VVER nuclear fuel. Development and prospects
Description
Development of new fuel for VVER-440 and VVER-1000 is presented. It will lead to extension of the campaign duration by 8%; decrease in number of reload batch FA by 10%; decrease in reload batch's enrichment by 0.25%; decrease in neutron flux on reactor vessel. Power uprate up to 107% for VVER-100 is scheduled. High enrichment fuel scenario for VVER-1000/VVER-1200 as well as the use of different materials for fuel elements are discussed.
