On compounds of Ln6Al3Si composition

Description
The refinement of phase equilibrium in the Tb-Al-Si system in the region close to Tb2Al and Tb3Al2 binary compounds is performed. In the mentioned aove region the compound of Tb6Al3Si composition has been found. It is established that the given compound is crystallized in tetragonal syngony with elementary cell parameters a=11.581(6), c=15.039(3), z=8, sp.gr. I4/mcm. The homogeneity region of this phase is determined. Isostructural compounds of Ln6Al3Si composition are obtained for Ln=Sm-Tm, Y, their elementary cell parameters are calculated
