Implications of ICRP-60 on interventions for limiting post-accident exposure of workers

Except for providing recommended upper dose limits for workers when the accident is being brought under control, ICRP-60 gives little more advice on limiting post-accident exposure of workers than previous publications. However, ICRP recommendations in general have influenced recent emergency planning in many countries, including control of worker exposures. Addressing several specific elements shows that the implications of ICRP recommendations on limiting post-accident exposure of workers have been substantial, particularly in the last decade, even though the advice has been rather general in nature.
