How do binary stars arise

Description

Hypothesis of binary (triple and higher multiplicity) stellar systems is presented. The hypothesis is based on the assumption that matter breaks away from a rotating protostar and is subsequently concentrated into two or three fragments forming a stellar system. The hypothesis is supported by the known distribution of spectral double systems depending on the ration of component masses
