Experiments on hydrogen inventory and permeation in vanadium

  • 1. Kyoto Univ., Dept. of Nuclear Engineering, Kyoto (Japan)

Description

Hydrogen trapping and permeation in vanadium was experimentally studied by use of an in-situ observation technique. The deuterium concentration in a vanadium membrane, exposed to deuterium plasma, increased several times after ion bombardment. It was attributed to trapping sites associated with radiation damages. The recombination rate constants were also obtained from the deuterium permeation rate and the concentration. (author)
