ICRF minority plasma heating in realistic geometries
Description
Conventional ICRF plasma heating theories assume variation of the cyclotron frequency at the resonance in the direction perpendicular to the background magnetic field, i.e., B·∇|B|=0. This is not the general case in Tokamak geometries. A new conservative generalization of the Budden wave tunneling equation was suggested recently for studying the ICRF minority (H) heating problem for B·∇|B|≠0 case. The generalization comprises a system of three coupled ordinary differential equations. (author) 6 refs., 7 figs
