Description

A method for quantitative determination of the Rn-222 content in water has been developed, which combines measurements of the alpha- and gamma-activity of Rn-222 and its daughters. Drill-hole water from the Kontinentale Tiefbohrung (KTB) is measured simultaneously with a Ge(Li)-detector and with CR-39 SSNTD. The track density of CR-39 is counted and can be correlated with the alpha-activity of the sample. (author)
