A sterile method for testing the dissolution of radionuclides from neutron-activated coal dust

  • 1. New York Univ., NY (USA). Inst. of Environmental Medicine

Description

Whenever radiolabelled dusts are used to study lung clearance patterns, it is important to know if the label remains attached to the dust within the lung. Leaching of the radionuclide would result in erroneous estimates of particle clearance rates. A method is described to test the dissolution of radionuclides from radiolabelled coal dust in a sterile environment. (U.K.)
