A new determination of the electroweak mixing angle from muon-neutrino electron scattering

Description
In this paper, the authors report on a new determination of sin2θw from the ratio of νμe to bar νμe scattering cross sections. 762 νmue and 1017 bar νμe have been observed in the 1987 and 1988 exposure of the CHARM II detector to the Wide Band Beam of the 450 GeV CERN SPS. From the ratio of cross sections the authors determined sin2θ0 = 0.233 ± 0.012(stat) ± 0.008(syst) without radiative corrections. With radiative corrections for mt = mH = 100 GeV the authors find sin2θw = 0.232 ± 0.012(stat) ± 0.008(syst)
