A new generalised algebraic multiple support response spectrum combination rule

Creators

  • 1. Westinghouse Energy Systems International, Brussels (Belgium)

Description

Using stationary random vibration theory it is possible to derive a simple generalised algebraic multiple support combination rule (GAC-S), which requires very little adaptation to standard industry finite element computer code packages and which should permit to obtain more realistic results than the USNRC recommended envelope response spectra or ABS support combination and provide better consistent results than the ASME PVRC ISM method.
