Description

A six terminal method to determine the resistivity anisotropy of lamellar superconductors is presented. The main advantage of this methods is to avoid the measurement of too small resistances while determining the resistivity anisotropy. A new resistance Rd is introduced and the resistivity anisotropy can be determined by the ratio of Rd and the longitudinal resistance for ?≤1, or Rd and the transverse resistance for ?≥1 (? is the so-called effective anisotropy)> hese two ratios have limited variations, which depend on the contact configuration. The room temperature resistivity anisotropy of the superconducting misfit layer compound (LaSe)1.14(NbSe2)2 was determined using this new method. (author)
