Perfecting of a computer program for PIXE quantitative analysis

Description

PIXE technique is used to measure element abundance in geological, archaeological samples, in medicine ...In this thesis, the author recalls the theoretical bases of this analysis method, gives the calculation method of element ratios that he has used for thick samples, describes the computer programs (XMONO and PIXCO) and then verifies experimentally his results that he has obtained with the PIXCO program results. The comparative studies show that PIXCO program gives good results for the elements of 20<Z<40 but ignores X secondary emission. PIXCO program is interesting for the analysis of next samples in series
