Description

The aim of this paper is to emphasize the modification of the mean energy of gamma radiations leaving a spherical radioactive source due to the source radius modification. Also, it has been studied how the density of the medium in which the source radionuclide is distributed affected the mean energy of the emitted gamma radiations. The computations had been carried out by means of the mathematical modelling method based on the Monte Carlo procedure. The considered energy range is 0.2 - 2 MeV and the source radii are: 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, 60 cm. (authors)
