Equipment for event selection in the experiment on study of μ+μ- pair production using the magnetic spectrometer with a streamer chamber

Description
Equipment for event selection in an experiment using the magnetic spectrometer with a streamer chamber in a beam of negatively charged particles with the 38 GeV/c momentum (106 s-1) from the U-70 synchrotron, is described. The equipment was developed for investigation into the production of μ+μ- pairs in pion collisions with carbon nuclei. The digital methods of processing the data from scintillation hodoscopes suppressed the interference down to the level ≅1 s-1. The complete resolution time was ≅ 220 ns. All the selection equipment is performed using microelectronic CAMAC circuits and occupies 3 crates
