Description
The electrochemical behaviour of tantalum(V) in water solutions of calcium chloride and potassium fluorotantalate was studied. It has been stated that cathodic reduction of tantalum ions occurred in 5M CaCl2 water solutions and K2TaF7 concentration ranging from 3.10-3 to 2.10-2M. Cathodic processes were studied using linear sweep voltammetry and normal pulse polarography. The spectroscopic UV studies of solutions proved that complex formation affects the ion reduction mechanism in a decisive way. (author). 7 refs., 5 figs
