Description
The functions of the Australian Atomic Energy Commission are described. There have been major changes in the Commission's program since its establishment in 1953. Two new facilities are required in the immediate future - a national medical cyclotron for radioisotope production and positron emission tomography (PET), and an 8 million volt tandem accelerator for applied nuclear science
