Processing and solidification of Savannah River Plant high-level waste
Description
The entire flowsheet for processing and solidification of SRP high-level wastes is demonstrated. A new small-scale integrated pilot plant is operating with actual radioactive wastes. Design of a full-scale waste solidification plant is in progress. The plant will produce about 500 cans of glass per year with each can containing about 1.5 tons of glass. (DG)
