Description
A minimal model for multipole orders in CeB6 is studied by mean field theory with particular attention to degeneracy of quadrupole order parameters. Recent experimental results in phases II and III can be explained naturally on the assumption that the surface direction determines the dominant quadrupole domain probed by X-rays
