Investigation of the enhancement of ionisation probability of the nickel K shell using H+, H2+ and H3+ with the same energy

Description
The ionisation probability P(theta) of the nickel K shell has been measured with 4 MeV H2+ and 6 MeV H3+ beams. The results are compared with the previously published data of 2 MeV H+. The enhancement observed is discussed. Several possible mechanisms are suggested to explain this effect. (author)
