Description
High dose rate gamma radiation equipment often possesses a very complex structure. Therefore it is not, or only with an extremely high effort, possible to determine the resulting radiation fields exclusively with dosimetric experiments. For solving these problems a computer code has been developed. The efficiency of the code, e.g. in relation to the geometric conditions, has been improved step by step, especially in a strong interaction with a universal 60Co gamma irradiation unit of the 'PANORAMA' type. Defining specific correction factors the agreement between computed and experimental data could be attained for different kinds of gamma irradiation facilities. The main characteristics of the code DOSKMF2 are described. Fields of application are 1) calculation of radiation fields in existing irradiation facilities for modification of optimization, 2) simulation of new irradiation facilities including shielding calculations. Some typical examples are presented. (author)
