Description

The paper presents the measurements of gamma radiation radioactive background and of the radioactive fallout made simultaneously with the registration of atmospheric electricity and meteorological elements at the Swider Geophysical Observatory. The preliminary results show that mean daily amount of background gamma radiation at Swider is nearly constant and has the value 2.7 μR/h, except some periods of heavy rainfall or of big snow cover. Evidence is given for the fresh fission products originated from nuclear explosions in the atmosphere in China. Some remarks are added concerning the influence of radioactive pollution and microaerosols (condensation nuclei) on the variations of electric elements. (author)
