Description

The aim of this seminar was to inform members of the Defence Manufacturers Association on the work of the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment in both the nuclear and non-nuclear fields. Following an opening address and background summary there were five papers given followed by a general discussion and questions. The topics covered were high explosives, composite and polymeric materials development, ceramic materials, fast data recording associated with underground nuclear weapons testing and a paper on decontamination, the removal of radioactivity from surfaces, which is indexed separately.
