DNA repair and its inhibition
Description
A book has been written which provides a comprehensive and up-to-date account of the modes of action of inhibitors of DNA repair such as novobiocin, hydroxyurea, caffeine, deoxyribonucleoside analogues, aphidicolin and 3-aminobenzamide, and describes in detail the various procedures by which inhibition can be visualised and measured. The value of inhibitors lies in the information they can provide about the molecular mechanism of DNA repair, and the cellular regulation of repair. The book reports on our present understanding of these topics, and also describes the dramatic long-term cellular consequences of the disruption of DNA repair by inhibitors, in terms of the crucial biological parameters of chromosome damage, cell killing and mutagenesis.
