Role of entropy during phase transformations in metals and alloys

Description

For metals, alloys and intermetallics the entropy of melting, evaporation and polymorphous transformations has been calculated. The calculations were performed using the values of molar volumes, atomic and covalent radii of the elements under normal conditions. The data obtained agree well with experiments and show a regular dependence on atomic number
