Remarks on the UA4/2 dσ/dt and on the asymptotic σT(s) behavior

It is found that the UA4/2 measurements on the real part of the forward pp-bar scattering amplitude and total section are consistent with each other and also with the standard picture of the Pomeron of either ln2 s or lns type. However the asymptotic σT(s) behavior obtained from the ad hoc parametrization fit to the pp-bar total cross sections as quoted in the Review of Particle Properties is consistent with the analysis of the class of the analytic amplitude models that contain the ln2 s type Pomeron term.
