Variational characteristics of ion injector for a linear accelerator
Description
Results of numerical simulation of high phase density beam dynamics in an ion injector, are presented. The investigation is conducted using a concrete example of negative hydrogen ion injector with plasma-surface source for ion accelerator with 150 MHz operating frequency. Effect of bending magnet and accelerating-focusing system electrode (parameter change) on the shape and value of the beam phase volume at the inlet to accelerator, is considered. 8 refs.; 7 figs.; 2 tabs
