Description
It is shown that the nonlinear penetration of a convective magnetic-field wave into a nonuniform plasma is accompanied by efficient electron heating. Electron motion in the electromagnetic field of the penetrating wave is studied in the electron MHD model by using test particles. It is shown that the acceleration of individual electrons in a nonuniform Hall electric field of the wave results in plasma heating. In this case, the circulation of the Hall component of the electric field around closed electron trajectories is nonzero
