Chemical composition of the B star HD 204754, suspected of deficiency of iron

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Astronomicheskij Sovet

Description

Chemical analysis of the B star HD 204754 has been carried out using 9 A/mm-dispersion spectra taken with the 2-m telescope of the Bulgarian National astronomical observatory. According to Cowley et al., this star is suspected to have decreased abundance of iron. Parameters of the atmosphere Tsub(e)=13000 K, lg g=3.5, and vsub(t)=4 km/s are obtained. Abundances of 9 elements from C to Ni are calculated by means of the model atmosphere technique. No deficit of iron exceeding 0.3 dex has been found. Abundances of all other elements practically do not differ from both solar abundances and those in the normal B star ν Cap of the spectral type similar to that of the star under study
