Description

The capacity of skeleton scintigraphy is still limited at present. In order to be able to evaluate the accuracy of roentgenodiagnosis for primary and secondary malignant bone processes the skeleton was investigated prospectively roentgenographically and scintigraphically in 173 malignoma patients with clinical suspect of osteometastases. By the application of all roentgenologic demonstration available (inclusive tomography and, if necessary, angiography) in more than 90 % of the pathologic cases metastases could be demonstrated. Optimization of the application of roentgenography and of /sup 99m/Tc scintigraphy of the skeleton is described. (author)
