On the Stability of Flat Plates under the Influence of Coolant Flow. Dragon Project Report

Description

The mechanical' stability of a flat plate between two solid walls under the influence of a coolant flow is investigated. The gas flow is assumed to be viscous and turbulent, but temperature effects are neglected. This simplified model is not directly applicable to the Dragon fuel rods, but by introducing the natural frequency of the rod as a general parameter one should get at least a qualitative picture of the phenomenon.
