Search for nucleon-nucleon correlations in the photon-asymmetry via the 4He(γ,NN) reaction

Description
The two- and three-nucleon photodisintegration of the 4He nucleus is studied in the energy range from 150 to 450 MeV in order to investigate the in-medium nucleon-nucleon interaction at short relative distances. Linearly polarized photons were employed for the study of nucleon-nucleon correlations because asymmetries are assumed to be less sensitive to the obscuring final state interactions. (author)
