Comparison of the SPPS-1 calculational results with experimental data of the WWER-440 reactors

Description
A comparison of calculational results by the three-dimensional coarse-mesh diffusion code SPPS-1 with experimental data from the first three cycles of the Loviisa-1 reactor and from the first five cycles of the Kozloduj-2 reactor is given. The cycle lengths for the Loviisa-1 reactor are overestimated systematically, whereas for the the Kozloduj-2 reactor they are described with sufficient degree of accuracy. The accuracy of the assembly-wise power distribution is close to the accuracy of the experimental data. The SPPS-1 code can be used for burnup calculations and choosing of refueling schemes for the WWER-440 reactors. 7 tabs., 8 figs., 8 refs
