Description
The temperature dependence of electrical resistivity of amorphous Fe100-xZrx alloys (x = 8.5 and 9.5) is measured in the temperature range 5-300 K using a liquid helium cryostat. Our experimental results show that both Curie temperature (Tc) and resistivity-minimum-temperature (Tmin) increase as Zr concentration increases. These observations indicate the existence of some correlation between magnetic and electrical resistivity behaviors near the transition region. The resistivity data has been analyzed in the light of both magnetic and non-magnetic scattering models to quantify the contributions from these scattering processes. From the quantitative analysis, it is found that magnetic contribution is noticeable around Tc and the nonmagnetic contribution is present in the complete temperature range of present study. (author)
