Description
The extensive experience of Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL) in developing and testing packaging for radioactive materials is featured and illustrated in this article. Recently, AECL has extended this work to the packaging of nonradioactive hazardous materials. Particularly, they have developed a protective 'overpack' for a standard 200 L steel drum. The use of this overpack in the shipment of PCB and hazardous biological materials is envisaged
