Description
Instability monitoring of synchrotron radiation (SR) was a problem in operating the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). With progresses in the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) upgrading project, great performance improvement of the SR source is required, too, hence the need of the monitoring the source instability. A photon beam position monitor (PBPM) of double wedge-blades type in BSRF has been developed and used for the front end zone. The PBPMs can effectively monitor 10 μm change in the SR beam position, and provide important guarantee of the light stability and the quality of experiment data. In this paper, we report physical design, parameter optimization and error analysis of the PBPMs. Descriptions on their applications in the BSRF are given briefly. (authors)
